CLT House

A cross laminated timber addition to a heritage house in the Sydney Suburb of Greenwich.

Designed in the round the new building intends to unlock the full site potential, creating a variety of external opportunities to suit the climate and individual needs of a growing family. A variety of Landscape themes further enhance the external living opportunities.

Operable walls and large format windows connect to new openings in the existing building creating external circulation routes.

The building itself creates distinct internal volumes to definite space, with joinery elements designed as free-standing objects within each volume.

Exposed CLT paneling reduces the need for additional internal wall linings, and the prefabrication methodology enables the complex geometry to be easily constructed and self-supporting.
