Miami Horror

A lighting installation & stage set for Miami horror's live show. The design is inspired by the bands' artwork and the principles of tensegrity (isolated components in compression inside a net of continuous tension)

The result, a structure made from minimal components appearing to float. Each of the "floating" tensegrity tetrahedrons comprised of 4 struts and 10 cords which could be easily disassembled. The struts were fabricated from lightweight aluminium framing with fixing points for 2 LED light tubes. The tubes were programmed to respond directly to the band's music, creating a dynamic and immersive experience within the confines of the relatively small venue.
