Lucas Hub

A new community hub in regional Victoria comprised of a series of interconnecting volumes that link to create public, private, internal and external spaces to compliment and support the growth of the surrounding neighbourhood.

The central canteen is the catalyst for the various spatial configurations, allowing for the operation of the facility as one large facility or to function as a public space without need to access the internal areas. A central artery runs axially through the building creating circulation and events space connecting street frontage & public plaza via an oversized covered lobby space.

The exterior skin of the building is designed to define a new tree-lined boulevard along the eastern boundary and plaza to the north which serves as a public plaza of varying topographies, public seating, amphitheatres, sports courts and community gardens.
